Welcome to the HFD Safety/Training Division.
The Hobbs Fire Department has a deep and rich History in training, covering forty years and ten training officers. During this time HFD has held two State Fire Academies, assisted in the early development of Fire Curriculums and Training Props at New Mexico Fire Training Academy (NMFTA) and have consistently supplied NMFTA with qualified instructors.
HFD Cadet Academies have advanced from “OJT” to a 12 to 14 week academies that provides College Credits and National Certification. Other achievements include: Shift training officers, Certified Haz-Mat Technicians, ARFF and Wildland Red Card certifications. Currently HFD is developing CDL training and Employee Development Programs.
HFD remains progressive in all areas of training and encourages personnel to attend training courses and seminars around the country. |
